University Introduction

Shaoguan University is a public university under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province. Its history in higher education dates back to 1958, and it was accredited as a master’s degree-granting institution in 2024. According to the 2025 ShanghaiRanking “Best Chinese Universities Ranking”, Shaoguan University rose 160 places compared to 2024, making it one of the fastest-improving universities in China. The university has been deeply engaged in international education exchanges and cooperation. It has established long-term and stable partnerships with more than 50 overseas universities in over 20 countries worldwide. In recent years, the university has enrolled and educated hundreds of long-term and short-term international students in China, and developing a mature international talent training system with strong service and support capabilities. By leveraging high-quality industrial resources including the Big Data Industry Talent Training Base for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Shaoguan Data Center Cluster, a national hub node of the computing power network, our university recruits international students from Southeast Asia for the undergraduate program in Automation (Data Center Operation and Maintenance Management), aiming to cultivate high-end technical professionals urgently needed in the era of the digital economy.

1. Program Introduction

This undergraduate program closely aligns the talent demand generated by the rapid development of digital economy and data center industry in Southeast Asia, and matches the regional layout of leading enterprises such as Alibaba, Tencent and ByteDance. It aims to cultivate technical professionals with an international vision who are capable of full-chain data center operation and maintenance.

The program focuses on two core fields: data center infrastructure O&M and IT O&M, emphasizing practical engineering abilities including structured cabling, equipment migration, operation monitoring, fault handling, system optimization and cloud computing O&M. Given the significant talent shortage in this field, graduates can pursue careers in data center O&M, system management, network engineering, cloud computing O&M and other related roles with broad career prospects.

Class Setup: Independent class with a minimum of 20 students

2. Admission Requirements

2.1 Nationality and Identity: Non-Chinese nationality with a valid foreign passport; generally under 30 years old.

2.2 Health and Conduct: Physically and mentally healthy, meeting the medical examination standards required by the Chinese government for study visa or residence permit application; friendly to China, abiding by Chinese laws, regulations and university rules, diligent and well‑behaved, with no criminal record.

2.3 Academic Qualification: High school graduation or equivalent (official academic transcript and graduation certificate required).

2.4 Language Proficiency: HSK Level 4 or above, or equivalent Chinese language proficiency certificate.

3.1 Application Period

April 1 – May 30, 2026 (semester starts in September 2026)

3.2 Application Procedure

3.2.1 Visit the official website of Department of Foreign Exchange and Cooperation, Shaoguan University: https://www.sgu.edu.cn/dwjlhzb/lxsy/xgzc.htm, and download the Application Form for International Students of Shaoguan University and the Document Checklist for International Student Application.

3.2.2 Fill in the application form, prepare all required documents in accordance with the checklist, and send the package to: 1198995875@qq.com.

3.2.3 The university will review applications, admit qualified applicants on a competitive basis, and issue the Admission Notice.

4. Tuition and Fees

4.1 Tuition

RMB 18,000 per person per academic year

4.2 Accommodation Fee

RMB 1,150 – 1,500 per person per academic year

4.3 Other Fees

Residence permit, medical examination, insurance and other relevant fees.

5. Scholarship

5.1 Guangdong Government Scholarship for International Students

Eligible applicants can receive RMB 10,000 per person per year.

5.2 Shaoguan University Friendship Scholarship

Eligible applicants can apply for a 50% tuition fee reduction.
