1. University Profile
Shaoguan University is a public university under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province. Its higher education history dates back to 1958, and it was accredited as a master’s degree-granting institution in 2024. According to the 2025 ShanghaiRanking “Best Chinese Universities Ranking”, Shaoguan University rose 160 places compared to 2024, making it one of the fastest-improving universities in China. Committed to international education exchanges and cooperation, Shaoguan University has established partnerships with more than 50 universities and educational institutions in multiple countries,including the United Kingdom, Canada, France,Italy, Spain, Australia, Singapore and the Republic of Korea,as well as institutions in the Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan regions in recent years. These partnerships have launched more than 30 programs including Sino-foreign cooperative education, joint talent cultivation, student exchanges,short-term academic seminars,short-term artistic practice, and bachelor-to-master articulation programmes with a mature international talent training system and comprehensive support services.

3. Admission Requirements
3.1 Nationality and Identity: Non-Chinese nationality with a valid foreign passport; generally under 30 years old.
3.2 Health and Conduct: Physically and mentally healthy, meeting the medical examination standards required by the Chinese government for study visa or residence permit application; friendly to China, abiding by Chinese laws, regulations and university rules, diligent and well‑behaved, with no criminal record.
3.3 Academic Qualification: High school graduation or equivalent (official academic transcript and graduation certificate required).
3.4 Language Proficiency: HSK Level 4 or above, or equivalent Chinese language proficiency certificate.
4. How to Apply
4.1 Application Period
April 1 – June 20 (Enrollment starts in September every year.)
4.2 Application Procedure
4.2.1 Visit the official website of Department of Foreign Exchange and Cooperation, Shaoguan University: https://www.sgu.edu.cn/dwjlhzb/lxsy/xgzc.htm, and download the Application Form for International Students of Shaoguan University and the Document Checklist for International Student Application.
4.2.2 Fill in the application form, prepare all required documents in accordance with the checklist, and send the package to: 1198995875@qq.com.
4.2.3 The university will review applications, admit qualified applicants on a competitive basis, and issue the Admission Notice.
5. Tuition and Fees
5.1 Tuition
Liberal Arts: RMB 17,000 per person per academic year
Science & Engineering: RMB 18,000 per person per academic year
Medicine: RMB 23,000 per person per academic year
5.2 Accommodation Fee
RMB 1,150 – 1,500 per person per academic year
5.3 Other Fees
Residence permit, medical examination, insurance and other relevant fees.
6.Scholarship
6.1 Guangdong Government Scholarship for International Students
Eligible applicants can receive RMB 10,000 per person per year.
6.2 Shaoguan University Friendship Scholarship
Eligible applicants can apply for a 50% tuition fee reduction.
